Lampo presents Tomomi Adachi @ Columbia College

Japanese multi-disciplinary composer Tomomi Adachi will inaugurate the Spring season of long-running Chicago experimental music organization Lampo. This performance will take place on the campus of Columbia College (916 S. Wabash, Room 214), 8 p.m., and the cost is $10 ($5 for students). More information at Transmission.

"An Evening of Art & Soul" @ Fuller Park

Platinum and Pink Diamonds Productions presents "An Evening of Art & Soul," tonight at Fuller Park, 331 W. 45th St., from 7pm-10pm. This showcase features work from a variety of visual arts including photographer Ashieka E. and artists Arthur Wright and Yemonja Smalls. BOUND Miniature Art Exhibition Opens @ 4Art Inc., Gallery

This provocative new series is based on a visual interpretation of a diary. The miniature 4"x4" size is meant to interpret the secrets diaries hold. Artists are given a theme of which they are free to create based on their own emotion, experience, etc., using any medium they choose. The opening reception is tonight from 7 to 10pm at 4Art Inc. (1029 W. 35th St. #403.)

Common Borders Opens @ 33 Collective Gallery

Common Borders, a show of work by Pedro Palacios and Joe Milosevich, opens at 33 Collective Gallery (1029 W. 35th St.) tonight. The opening reception is from 7-10pm and the show will stay up through May 7.

Tradition & Reinvention Exhibition Opening and Performance Party @ Packer Schopf Gallery

This opening night event is designed to complement the two shows upstairs (Friese Undine and Ian Weaver). It's a curated show of global street banner paintings culled from the
tradition of Cantastoria. Performers Dave Buchen and Chris Schoen will perform a "scrolly" show, which consists of pictures on a scroll, which is unwound as a singer sings the narration. Clare Dolan will present a short sung history of the form using brightly colored illustrations painted on her dress, and Spiro Dousias, a Chicago puppeteer, will perform a short sung piece with pictures as well. Meredith Miller will also perform. Golosá is Chicago's premiere Russian folk choir, founded in 1997 at the University of Chicago. They will enhance this evening and sing sacred and secular Russian folk songs a capella, and will perform at various points through the night. This event is from 5-10pm tonight at Packer Schopf Gallery: 942 W. Lake St.

In a Paperweight Opens @ Tony Wight Gallery

In a Paperweight is a group show featuring the work of Walead Beshty, Sebastiaan Bremer, Daniel Gordon, Tamar Halpern, Barbara Kasten, Sara VanDerBeek and James Welling. Also opening tonight is Allison Schulnik's Home for Hobo Too. MMX Spring Group Show Opens @ Zg Gallery

Windy City Burlesque Fest @ Greenhouse Theatre

Hold on to your pasties and tighten your corset, Vaudezilla and Belmont Burlesque are bringing American burlesque back where it all began with the Windy City Burlesque Fest! The three day event continues tonight with a performance at the historic Greenhouse Theatre (2257 N Lincoln Avenue) at 10pm. The show includes performances from over a dozen bawdy broads including Yorkshire's Anna Fur Laxis, New Orleans' Perle Noire, Montreal's Scarlett James, and several of Chicago's shimming stars. Joe Meno Reading @ Quimby's

Chicago Latino Film Festival
