Chicago Improv Festival Opening Night
The 19th annual Chicago Improv Festival kicks off tonight at the Annoyance Theater (4830 N. Broadway) featuring the improv troupes Bad Touch, 4 Horsemen and Uncle's Brother. Tickets are $12, show starts at 8pm. Tickets and more information at Chicago Improv Festival.
Too Much LADY Makes The Baby Go Blind
The Neo-Futurists present an all-female version of their long-running show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind. Scheduled to appear are 8 female ensemble members, who will go through their most- and least-ladylike material for an evening of very short plays. After the show, there will be a round table discussion titled "Ladies In Your Face". The evening starts tonight at 8pm (doors at 7pm) at Victory Gardens Theater (2433 N. Lincoln Avenue). Monotonix @ Schubas
Expect all out mayhem tonight at Schubas as Israeli garage rockers Monotonix take the stage, er, um, the floor, well, most likely the whole damn room. Despite recently breaking a leg (literally) during a show in West Palm Beach, it's hard to keep Ami Shalev from hanging from the ceiling and and jumping into and onto the crowd. More in Transmission. The Order of Odd-Fish Gallery Show - Special Book Club Tour
James Kennedy, author of the GB Book Club's May selection The Order of Odd-Fish, is giving a special tour of his gallery show, featuring fan art inspired by his young adult novel. Come learn about how fans are getting involved with the book and see the art they've submitted. James will also read from the novel. 7:30pm at 437 N. Wolcott. Lara Miller Fashion Show @ Loft on Lake
The 312 Fashion Runway Series continues tonight with a runway show from local designer Lara Miller. The StyleChicago.com hosted cocktail hour begins at 7pm and the show begins at 8:30pm at the Loft on Lake (1366 West Lake Street). Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at 312 Fashion's website.
