The Return of Rumble Lounge @ LOKal

Having moved both the location and the night, Rumble Lounge is back to bring you some of the most forward-thinking electronic music being made today. The new digs are at North Ave. hotspot LOKal and come with improved sound and vibe. Every third Wednesday night at 10pm at Rumble Lounge explores the minimal, subtle and moody sides of dubstep and techno and the increasing overlap between the two. DJs Olin and Akademy promise a night for casual listeners, aficionados, and the curious alike to enjoy a relaxing environment and appreciate the texture in the more subdued stylings of dubstep, dub-techno, uk funky, minimal house and techno. LOKal is located at 1904 W. North. Rumble Lounge is free and 21+.

Chicago Improv Festival @ 16th Street Theater

Sound Opinions Movie Night: The Song Remains The Same

Sound Opinions presents the latest in their series of movie nights at the Music Box (3733 N. Southport). Tonight's film: The Song Remains The Same, the Led Zeppelin performance documentary from 1973. Showtime is 7:30pm, doors open at 6:30pm, and tickets are $9 in advance ($8 for WBEZ members), available online.

Chicago Improv Festival Lifetime Achievement Awards @ The Second City ETC

As part of the Chicago Improv Festival, The Second City ETC (1608 N. Wells) is the venue for the Chicago Improv Festival Lifetime Achievement Awards. Achievement recipients include: Harold Ramis; Dick Schaal; and Severn Darden (accepted by his widow, Heather Darden) among others. Tickets are $50. The Nicest Man Dave Thomas Benefit Concert @ The Empty Bottle

This is a benefit to help raise money to cover Dave Thomas' massive hospital bills from cancer, featuring an assortment of local art, retail, and food up for auction.It also features live performances by The Record Low, Follows, and Amalea Tshilds. Echo & the Bunnymen @ the Metro

Pinups for Pitbulls @ Cobra Lounge

Pinups for Pitbulls is an international non-profit organization dedicated to restoring the image of the American Pitbull Terrier. They will be hosting an event on May 15th @ Cobra Lounge - 235 N. Ashland Ave.- in Chicago. Burlesque by Pinups for Pitbulls founder Little Darling and Miss Pussykatt as well as an act from Chicago's own PainKurst Girls. Bleeding Heart Bakery, Metropolitan Brewing, among others are donating prizes to the event to be raffled off.

Dance Classes

Designed for people who are new to social dance as well as those who wish to practice fundamental skills, participants will learn the basics of some popular Latin dances (Salsa, Rumba, Bachata, Merengue). Basic lead and follow skills, musicality, posture and dance floor etiquette will also be discussed. Both couples and single dancers are welcome. Dance shoes are encouraged but not required. The classes will be 45 minutes long with an additional 5 to 10 minutes of practice. $12 for drop-ins and $80 for the 8-week session. Wednesdays at 7PM at the Ballroom Dance Chicago (4043 N. A Dress of Steel Mesh

A Dress of Steel Mesh explores the role of women's words and silences in surviving intimate violence. Relayed by a chorus of three female voices, A Dress of Steel Mesh "offers hope to those inspired to forge a new beginning from a labyrinth of lost dreams."
