GL 2010: "Not Your Generic Latina" @ Chicago Dramatists

Presented by Teatro Luna, Chicago's All-Latina Theatre Company at Chicago Dramatists, 1105 W. Chicago Ave. at 7:30pm. Not Your Generic Latina takes on the question: what has changed for Latinas over the past 10 years? The ladies of LunĂ¡ticas challenge you to confront old stereotypes and break down new ones through original music, spoken word and new autobiographical stories reflecting the diverse lives of Latina women. Tickets are currently on sale for $12, $15 and $20.

Artist-in-Residence Ramu Ramdev @ AIC

In the Alsdorf Galleries of Indian, Southeast Asian, and Himalayan Art Section of the Art Institute of Chicago, master miniature painter Ramu Ramdev from Jaipur, India will be in residence from June 6th to the 12th, offering a rare opportunity to see the artist at work. Chicago Council on Global Affairs Discussion on Peace in the Middle East

The Chicago Council on Global Affairs (CGA) hosts a discussion on Damascus and peace in the Middle East with former ambassador to Syria and Israel Edward P. Djerejian today at 5:30pm. Attendance is $20 for members of the CGA and $30 for non-members, and the reception and discussion will be held at the InterContinental Hotel, 505 N. Michigan Ave.
