International Summer Screenings @ Chicago Cultural Center

The Chicago Cultural Center (in conjunction with Cinema/Chicago) continues its International Summer Screenings Program with Scandal Makers, a comedy about fame and family. Catch the film at 6:30 p.m. Chicago Cultural Center: 78 E. Washington St. (312) 744-6630. Free.

Taste of Chicago Preview

Get a preview of the 2010 Taste of Chicago at Daley Plaza, where you can try out "Taste Portions" of select menu items that will be available at the big event this June 25-July 4 in Grant Park. Admission is free, but bring cash if you plan on eating anything. 11am-2pm. 50 W. Washington.

Rock for Kids' Poster Artist Interviews w/ Geoff Peveto (Rescheduled)

If you've ever wanted to know more about your favorite show posters, tune in today at 1pm at the Rock for Kids' website to pose questions to rock poster artists. The nonprofit's new interview series launched last week and continues today with Geoff Peveto of the Decoder Ring at 1pm. Clay Hayes from gigposters.com will be interviewing the artists, and fans can ask their own questions via text and webcam. During the interviews, Rock for Kids will launch some online auctions of some out-of-print and band-signed posters. You can participate in the chat by signing up for a Vokle account or just logging in with your Twitter account while the interview is ongoing at RockforKids.com. [Note: this online interview is rescheduled for Monday, June 14th at 7pm.]

Mojito Mixology Class @ Carnivale

Come out tonight from 6:30pm to 8:30pm to join Elizabeth Mendez in a Mojito making lesson at Carnivale, 702 W. Fulton St. Students will learn the history behind the classic Cuban cocktail while creating and sampling perfectly muddled mojitos. Cost is $25 per person and includes mojito samples and appetizers prepared by Chef Mark Mendez.

The Encyclopedia Show @ Vittum Theatre

Winner of a 2009 Orgie Theatre Award, The Encyclopedia Show presents its season finale (and biggest show ever) tonight at The Vittum Theatre (1012 N Noble St). Showcasing visual art, comedy, music and spoken word on a wide variety of subjects related to this month's topic of "the circus", The Encyclopedia Show draws its novice and notable talent from Chicago Area and National Artists in the Slam, Academic and Youth artists' communities. The all-ages event starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $6 at the door.
