Facets Night School: The Stuff

Facets Cinematheque presents Facets Night School, a weekly series of midnight screenings paired up with lectures, discussions, and much more. Tonight's screening: Larry Cohen's 1985 horror classic The Stuff, about a mysterious addictive foodstuff that has unforeseen side effects. Dyke March @ Jackson Park

Lesbians march in solidarity today at the Dyke March, which moves to the South Shore neighborhood this year. Event kicks off from the Shore Bank parking lot at 7054 S. Jeffery at 2:30pm. A post-march rally will take place at 4pm at Jackson Park, 63rd and Hayes.

The Neo-Futurists Present The Paper Machete: Special Pride Edition 2010

The Neo-Futurists team up with the local weekly performance series The Paper Machete for a special Pride edition this evening at 7:30pm at the Neo-Futurarium (5153 N. Ashland at Foster). Hosted by Neo-Futurist alumnus Dave Awl, the evening will feature readings and live performances from plenty of artists, some of whom are former & current Neo-Futurists. Mud Queens of Chicago @ Reggie's

The Mud Queens of Chicago bring female mud wrestling to Reggie's Rock Club, 2109 S. State St., tonight at 7pm. The Wanton Looks, The Runnies, Rattack and The Cathy Santonies perform during the matches. Tickets are $10; proceeds benefit the Chicago Women's Health Center.

Grant Park Orchestra @ Harris Theater

Tonight the Grant Park Music Festival takes a fascinating look at three early winners of the Pulitzer Prize: including the rarely heard A Free Song by William Schuman (1943) and Aaron Copland's quintessentially American ballet Appalachian Spring Suite (1945). Girls Rock! Chicago End-Of-June Camp Extravaganza @ Metro

Girls Rock! presents their end-of-June concert featuring campers aged 8-16. The nonprofit organization runs a summer camp dedicated to musicianship for girls. The campers have formed bands, and will be performing in front of a live audience this afternoon at Metro (3730 N. Clark). Doors open at 3pm, show starts at 3:30. Two-Hour Comedy Hour @ Gallery Cabaret

This week's Two-Hour Comedy Hour will be hosted by Dean Carlson and features comedians Danny Kallas, Emily Galati, Trey Mowder, Tony Blanco and Phil Kijak. Louis Sullivan's Idea @ Chicago Cultural Center

Going on in conjunction with Looking After Louis Sullivan: Photographs, Drawings, and Fragments at The Art Institute of Chicago, Louis Sullivan's Idea exhibition is on view until November 28th at Chicago Cultural Center, 78 East Washington. Chicago artist Chris Ware and cultural historian Tim Samuelson present an installation of photographs, drawings, documents, and artifacts that will portray Sulllivan's life, writings, and architectural works in the context of his time and original creative intent. Ox-Bow Centennial: Contemporary Art @ Roots & Culture

Come out tonight from 6pm to 9pm to Roots & Culture, 1034 N Milwaukee Ave. The opening reception of Ox-Bow Centennial: Contemporary Art celebrates the centennial year of Ox-Bow, school of art and artists' residency. For the past 100 years, Ox-Bow has provided an immersive experience as an oasis for the creative community. The artists featured in this exhibition are Mike Andrews, Jonah Groeneboer, Shara Hughes, George Liebert, Anna Mayer, Aspen Mays, Carmen Price, Elizabeth Rupprecht, Melanie Schiff, Andrew Winship, and Nate Wolf.

American Spanish Dance Festival's Flamenco Passion@North Shore Center for Performing Arts

The culmination of Chicago's Ensemble EspaƱol's American Spanish Dance Festival, Flamenco Passion will feature three Flamenco dance world premieres.
