Nerd Trivia Night @ Flounders

The Chicago Nerd Social Club invites you down for an evening of trivia quizzes at Flounders Bar *2291 N. Clybourn) tonight from 8pm to 10pm. This is a nerds event, so expect trivia categories to include comics/graphic novels, The Simpsons, Star Trek/Wars, videogames, etc. The event is free. His Girl Friday @ Film Center

The Red Machine @ Facets

The Red Machine (2009) follows Eddie Doyle, master safe cracker, on his way to jail, where e is offered the opportunity for forgo his sentence by helping Lt. F. Ellis Coburn and the US government pull the theft of a lifetime. The film combines a heist movie with a classic espionage flick to create a dynamic between Doyle and Coburn that keeps the film in high gear. There are two screenings - 7pm and 9pm. Tickets are $9 for general audience and free for Facets members. Filmmakers Stephanie Argy and Alec Boehm will perform a Q&A about the film following the screening. Vandermark 5 @ Elastic Arts

The Vandermark 5 lead tonight's show as part of the Improvised Music Series at Elastic Arts. Vandermark and his sax will lead one of his mainstay groups consisting of Dave Rempis (reeds), Fred Lonberg-Holm (cello), Kent Kessler (bass) and Tim Daisy (drums). Elastic, 2830 N.
