Facets Cinematheque presents a special Facets Night School event: A Page of Madness, a 1926 silent film from Japan which will be accompanied by live music from the Cursed Bird Ensemble. Using their gallery to its fullest, the Chicago Urban Art Society will re-purpose their space as the official "Warehouse Junkies" venue. In this non-traditional environment, vendors will consist of Chicago-based music retailers as well as local independent dealers, collectors, and DJs. Customers are invited to shop - buy/trade - rare, valuable and classic merchandise while local DJs talents provide the soundtrack. It's a very RIOT Comedy edition of The Two-Hour Comedy Hour. This week, Trey Mowder hosts Renee Schultz, Liza Treyger Liza Treyger, Lauren Vino and RIOT faves Ricky Gonzalez and Kelly Minta. This free show features a different lineup each week. There's no cover for the 21+ show -though a $5 donation is accepted - and it runs from 7-9 pm at Gallery Cabaret, 2020 N. Oakley (near Western and Milwaukee, just off the Blue Line stop). Guests are encouraged to arrive early.

Opening this evening at 4:30PM at the SAIC Sullivan Galleries, 33 S. State Street, 7th Floor is The Joke is Irresistible. Curated by Joe Iverson, this exhibition challenges various tropes of masculinity and the gendered gaze. This area remain largely undocumented in gender studies and is analyzed by borrowing from the feminist tradition and applying the same tools to questions of masculinity. This exhibition's artists include Christopher Bradley, Andy Cahill, Jason Conny, Anthony Creeden, Alan Fleming and Michael Fleming, Joe Grimm, Millie Kapp and Isabella Ng, Mik Kastner, Ei Jane, Janet Lin and Miao Jiaxin.
Redheads Unite! Tonight at Mrs. Murphy & Son's Irish Bistro, 3905 N. Lincoln Ave., gingers from across Chicago will meet to celebrate their fair skin, freckles and unique hair. The festivities -- which will include live music, food, drinks and the crowning of King and Queen Ginger -- run from 8 to 11pm.
