Comedian Kumail Nanjiani @ The Hideout

A longtime Chicago comedy favorite for his playful wit and fondness for video games, Kumail Nanjiani returns to The Hideout for a rare stand-up gig. Seriously, now's your only chance: Soon Kumail is going to begin filming "Franklin & Bash", the TBS sitcom he'll appear in come summer 2011. He spoke about the new drug "cheese" on "This American Life", has been a guest on "Comedy Death Ray" and WTF Comedy podcasts, and was a writer/actor on "Michael & Michael Have Issues" with "The State"'s Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black. When he was in Chicago only a few years back, Kumail was a regular at The Lincoln Lodge and Chicago Underground Comedy, and debuted his killer one-man show, Unpronounceable, at the now shuttered Lakeshore Theater. Oh, also Letterman, Fallon, he'll appear in the film Life As We Know It this October -- okay, enough of that. Kumail's acerbic, pop culture-tinged comedy speaks for itself. More info here.
