Fans of experimental electronic music should flock to the Empty Bottle tonight to see one of the genre's luminaries, as Austria's Fennesz makes a rare North American appearance. Known for his fuzzed-out, ambient epics, seeing him perform live with one hand on the guitar and the other on his laptop is an experience not to be missed. "Food, Art, and the Politics of Agriculture in Contemporary Social Practice" @ DePaul University Art Museum

Artist and scholar Liena Vayzman will discuss artists' diverse roles in current social movements related to food, agriculture and sustainability. The talk is free and open to the public. Big Night Benefit for FCACC @ Chicago Cultural Center

Join fellow animal lovers for this benefit for Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control starting at 6:30pm at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E Washington. Rancher and journalist Bill Kurtis emcees a silent auction, you'll eat food from local chefs (Stephanie Izard of the Girl and the Goat and Susan Goss of West Town Tavern are among them), enjoy music, and imbibe from an open bar. Soccer Juggling Fundraiser

America Scores, the youth group that enriches the lives of at risk youth with an inventive combination of soccer, poetry and service learning, will be holding an obesity awareness fundraiser on 9/23. The event will be championed by the executive director of SCORES Chicago, Amy Vondra Stark, who will be juggling a soccer ball for 14 hours between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. Starting in the wee hours of the morning at NBC Plaza, Vondra Stark will travel around the loop from 190 State St to Daley Plaza to 120 S. Riverside Plaza.

Everyone from CPS teachers and administrators to professional soccer players to people off the street are welcome and challenged to join her marathon juggle and raise money as well. Individual donations can be pledged at: http://kickclickscore.org/

Famed choreographer, Lar Lubovitch, will bring his internationally acclaimed dance company to Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph, 7:30pm.
