Rock for Kids Benefit @ Park West

Rock for Kids, a non-profit organization that sponsors music education in under-served neighborhoods, hosts its annual fundraiser at 6pm at Park West (322 West Armitage). A silent auction, hors d'oeuvres, and cocktails set the stage for a concert by Robbie Fulks. Tickets $75.

Young Chicago Authors Holiday Book Bash

Young Chicago Authors is turning 20 -- celebrate them being halfway through college and their founder, Dr. Robert Boone. Over 30 local authors will be in attendance, including Amy Dickinson (The Mighty Queens of Freeville), Blair Kamin (Terror and Wonder: Architecture in the Tumultuous Age), and David Royko (Royko in Love: Mike's Letters to Carol). 6pm-9pm, Egan Center at DePaul, 1 E.
