UNEARTHED @ No Nation Gallery

Illinois Institute of Art designers Carmen McGhee and Aris Sergakis collaborated to produce this eventful evening, featuring an art exhibition and a runway show of work by 15 student designers, either original or refurbished from vintage clothing. There is a suggested donation of $3 and the evening will include a cash bar and music. UNEARTHED begins at 7pm and takes place at No Nation Gallery, located at 1542 N Milwaukee.

Chicago Ukulele Cabaret holiday show @ Silvie's

The latest evening of Chicago Ukulele Cabaret happens tonight at 9pm at Silvie's Lounge (1902 W. Irving Park Road). Tonight's theme: "How The Uke Stole Christmas (and Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa)". Participants are invited to prepare up to three holiday-themed songs on the ukulele. Skits and costume changes are encouraged. For more information on the event see the group's Facebook page.

"Harold and the Purple Crayon: A Dance Adventure"@ Harris Theater

Hubbard Street 2 will present "Harold and the Purple Crayon: A Dance Adventure," an hour-long, interactive dance program based on the beloved childrens' book, 3pm at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. Funny First Saturdays @ ICE Theaters

Join Chicago comedian Damon Williams tonight at 8pm as he hosts "Funny First Saturdays" at ICE Theaters, 210 W. 87th St. Tonight's show features a stand-up comedy competition, with Chicago-based comedians Brent Stackhouse, Ife Oyedokun, Michelle Rhodes and others competing for a chance to open at the Damon Williams New Year's Eve show at the Star Plaza in Merrillville, IN. AREA Chicago Wants & Needs Auction

AREA Chicago hosts its fourth annual Wants & Needs auction tonight at Roots and Culture Gallery, 1034 N. Milwaukee Ave., from 8pm to midnight. Items up for bid include a group acupuncture session followed by a delicious homecooked Indian meal, a custom portrait on black velvet of the revolutionary educator of your choice, dinner with Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, four hours on the Chicago River with the Fantastic AquaCat, and more, with bids starting as low as $10. In addition, DJs will spin and refreshments will be served. $10 suggested donation.

Julmarknad @ Swedish American Museum

Music, food and handmade crafts mark the annual Julmarknad event, which takes place today from 10am-5pm (and tomorrow from 11am-4pm) at the Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark. Admission $2.

Joy of Toys Holiday Toy Drive @ Mario's Ristorante

The North Dearborn Association hosts its 18th annual Joys of Toys holiday wrap party this afternoon at Mario's Ristorante (21 W. Goethe St) in the Gold Coast. Admission is a minimum of one new, unwrapped toy valued at $20 for a 5-7 year old child. The family-friendly event runs from 1pm-3:30pm with complimentary food and beverages for the "wrappers". This year, toys will be distributed to students at George Manierre School and the Catherine Ferguson Child Parent Center. Suggested items include: dolls, action figures, sports gear, hand-held electronics and remote controlled toys (with batteries included). Kindly avoid items that require a computer or other hardware, toy guns, oversized toys, strictly educational or religious-themed items.
