Brad Killiam National Roundabout Task Force Opens @ Julius Caesar Gallery

Local artist Brad Killam (who co-runs The Suburban gallery in Oak Park) has an exhibition going up at Julius Caesar gallery this month, and the opening is this afternoon from 4 to 7pm. Julius Caesar is located at 3311 W. Carroll Ave. in East Garfield Park. There is plenty of parking and public transportation (Green line, Kimball bus) nearby.

The Affordable Vintage Fair

The Affordable Vintage Fair, a multi-vendor rummage sale, takes place today at 2130 W. Iowa St. from 10am to 3pm. Browse featuring clothing, jewelry, furniture, housewares, books, Fenton glass, vintage sheet music and more

War/Dance @ DuSable Museum of African-American History

See the award-winning film War/Dance at 2pm today at the DuSable Museum of African-American History, 740 E. 56th Pl. Directed by Seth and Andrea Fine, this documentary (also part of the museum's African Jubilee Film Festival), follows three Ugandan school aged children who, despite the challenges of living in a war zone, follow their passion and compete in their country's National Music and Dance Festival. DePaul University professor Ogenga Otunnu will be on hand for post-discussion. This event is free and open to the public. Contact 773- 947-0600 for more information.

Poetry Theater @ Oracle Theatre

Tonight Kenning Editions, Oracle Productions, and The Poetry Foundation is proud to present an evening where six poets will present their work -- which they've come up with just yesterday. The poets met for the first time, conceived their brilliant ideas, and rehearsed on December 4 and tonight they'll perform for you at Oracle Theatre (3809 N. Broadway) starting at 6pm with a roundtable discussion, followed by the performance at 7:30pm. Admission is free but reservations are strongly recommended. Reserve your seat here.
