A Christmas Story Screening @ Pritzker Park

You'll shoot your eye out, kid! Is there a favorite scene in A Christmas Story that you watch year after year? Movies in Pritzker Park will allow you to catch that scene, recite your favorite quote and head on your way. New to Winter WonderLoop this year is a special three-week series of holiday film screenings Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm, from Dec. 1-15, in Pritzker Park at State and Van Buren Streets. This winter, Pritzker Park, the former home of Tony Tasset's EYE sculpture, will be transformed into an outdoor movie theater allowing patrons to stop by or enjoy a full screening of some iconic holiday films. Big Star Tribute @ Schubas

You Get What You Deserve: A Tribute to Big Star happens tonight at Schubas. Among the musicians that will be paying tribute to the band are Steve Frisbie, Jon San Juan, Tom Szidon and Mike Zelenko. Opening act is Village, and DJ poseur will spin records between acts. The show starts tonight at 8pm. Tickets are $8, and it's a 21+ show. Schubas: 3159 N. Southport at Belmont. (773) 525-2508.

Joanna Wilson and Local Author Night @ The Book Cellar

Joanna Wilson, author of The Christmas TV Companion: A Guide to Cult Classics, Strange Specials and Outrageous Oddities and the forthcoming Tis the Season TV: The Encyclopedia of Christmas-Themed Episodes, Specials and Made-For-TV Movies, will visit The Book Cellar during her national, 12-city author tour.

It's also Local Author Night, featuring Thomas Crumm, David Berner (Accidental Lessons: A Memoir of a Rookie Teacher and a Life Renewed) and KJ Larsen (Liar, Liar: A Cat DeLuca Mystery). This all starts at 7pm tonight, at The Book Cellar, 4736 N. Lincoln.

Chicago Loot Drop Charity Event @ Lincoln Hall

Come out and support fellow gamers as they shred guitars in the name of charity. Local musicians I Fight Dragons will be judging Rock Band players as they raise money for the Child's Play charity. The show starts tonight at 7pm. Tickets are $30, but scores you two drinks and a tax-deductible contribution to the Child's Play charity.
