Girls Rock! Chicago Fundraiser @ Schubas

Schubas plays host for a fundraiser for Girls Rock! Chicago, a nonprofit that helps young girls confidence and self-esteem through music. Tonight's benefit features The Laureates, along with special guests too shy to be mentioned here. The benefit starts tonight at 8pm. Tickets are $10, and it's an 18+ show. Schubas: 3159 N. Glawdys N'Dee @ The Wild Hare

The Wild Hare, 3530 N. Clark, presents "A Thank You Note," a free holiday concert by Afro-Caribbean jazz artist, Glawdys N'Dee. N'Dee, also known as "The New Voice of the Caribbean," is performing in this special concert tonight to celebrate the release of her debut CD, "Lyannaj." Doors open at 7pm, concert starts 8pm. "Expressions of MJ" @ CICS-Longwood

For Children, By Children (FCBC) returns with "Expressions of MJ," a dance musical honoring the musical legacy of Michael Jackson, tonight at 7pm at the CICS-Longwood, 1309 W. 95th St. Written and directed by Rod Lewis, FCBC pays tribute to the late entertainer with all new songs, skits and dance routines to some of the singer's greatest hits. Butterfly Ball @ Lumen

The first-ever Butterfly Ball takes place at Lumen, 839 W. Fulton Market, tonight from 7pm to 10pm. Enjoy performances by Lungz, Crystal La'Juene and DJ Marcus Shadden, plus an open bar and complementary hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $35 or $100 for VIP. Proceeds benefit the Mariposa DR Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to educating impoverished teen girls in the Dominican Republic. 21+

Tim Kasher @ The Vic Theatre

Tim Kasher will take the stage tonight at The Vic Theatre to support Minus the Bear on their tour. Chicago is the second to last stop before the tour ends in Milwaukee on Friday. Kasher's most recent album, The Game of Monogamy, has been described as a deeply personal reflection of the former Cursive front-man. Rah Rah will open the all ages show at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $24 and can be purchased online or at the door. The Vic Theatre is at 3145 North Sheffield, just off the Belmont Brown and Red Line.
