Mayoral Candidate Meet & Greet @ Chicago Urban Art Society

Come meet and mingle with the mayoral candidates at the Mayoral Engagement, a meet and greet at the Chicago Urban Art Society, 2229 S. Halsted St., tonight from 6 to 11pm. DJs Pickel, Intel and Trew spin, beverages will be served, a variety of arts organizations will be on hand, and hopefully all the candidates will be there to say a few words and talk with you. Free.

Fast Track To Terror @ Wilmette Theatre

Shadows and Screams presents Fast Track To Terror, an evening of independent short films. The program starts tonight at 10pm at the Wilmette Theatre (1122 Central Avenue, Wilmette) and includes a free raffle. Tommy Wiseau presents The Room @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre welcomes back Tommy Wiseau, the director/writer/star of the cult classic The Room. The film will be screened, and Wiseau will be in attendance for a Q&A session after the screening. The Room screens tonight and tomorrow night at 10pm. See the Music Box schedule for full details. Flamenco Festival Opening Night

The Chicago Flamenco Festival kicks of tonight at the Instituto Cervantes Auditorium, 31 W. Ohio St., with a performance by José Moreno El Cano and Perico De La Paula in tribute to legendary flamenco singer Enrique Morente. Doors open at 7pm. Play Misty For Me @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center continues their series of psychological horror films with a screening of Clint Eastwood's directorial debut, Play Misty For Me from 1971. Eastwood co-stars with Jessica Walter (whom you may know from her recent career resurgence on such TV shows as "Arrested Development" and "Archer"). George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic @ Congress

Ladies get in for free and gents for just $15 with the special event flyer for tonight's funky funky show at the Congress Theater. George Clinton and P-Funk bring their notoriously unique brand of funkiness to Milwaukee Avenue for what's sure to be the best way to start off your weekend of looooove. The Good Evening Reading Series @ Mess Hall

The reading series tonight will feature K. Bradford, whose poems dabble in "the spectacle of drag, pageantry & disco balls." Sound intriguing? Come to Mess Hall (6932 N. Glenwood Ave. in Rogers Park) at 7:45pm to take it all in. If you wanna read your own stuff, come early for the open mic that starts at 7pm. And it's all free!

The Eternals @ Schubas

Local dub/funk/world/jazz/who-knows-what group the Eternals are back with a new mind-expanding album, Approaching the Energy Field. To celebrate, their record release show will be at Schubas (3159 N. Southport) on Friday, Feb. 11. The show starts at 9:30 p.m., is 21+, and tickets are $10. Local group The Bedfellows (including ex-Watchers members) will open.
