McKenzie Toma and Ty Maxon @ Uncommon Ground on Clark

Appearing together at Uncommon Ground on Clark (1214 W. Grace), McKenzie and Ty have some things in common- they're both hypnotic fingerstyle guitarists with very original and modern adaptations of '60s folk roots, and lyrics focusing on natural imagery. McKenzie, whose beautifully ornamental vocal style has helped draw a following very early in her music career, recently completed a self-titled EP featuring a track produced with Devendra Banhart. Ty, a true musician's musician, is regularly featured on countless bills across the city. Also appearing will be musician Rob Reid, whose songs draw from an eclectic range of world genres and describe colorful characters involved in endeavors such as riding public transit in West Africa, surviving lightning strikes, and holding up banks. This show may sell out- so it's a good idea to reserve a table. For more information visit Uncommon Ground or call 773-929-3680. Show starts at 8pm.
