Green City Living Open House

The Center for Neighborhood Technology, CNT Energy and I-GO Car Sharing hosts a Green City Living Open House tonight from 5pm to 8pm at CNT's headquarters at 2125 W. North Ave. Refreshments, a workshop on green living and a raffle are on tap; full details and RSVP on Facebook.

Story Lab Chicago @ Black Rock Pub

Come back to the Black Rock Pub (3614 N. Damen) for the April installment of Story Lab Chicago, New Voices Telling New Stories. Join us for an intimate evening of storytelling in the cozy back room of one of Chicago's best pubs. Each month, an entirely different lineup of up-and-coming storytellers will share their freshest pieces. This month's lineup includes: Bente Engelstoft, Alice Kim, Conrad Lawrence, CJ Leavens, Matt Ulrich, and Paul Whitehouse. Hosted by Scott Whitehair of the reading series This Much is True. White Mystery Record Release Party -- 2 Shows

White Mystery celebrate the release of their full-length album, Blood & Venom, with not one but two shows at Pancho's, 2200 N. California Ave. The first show is all ages and starts at 6pm, with Close Hits and Loose Dudes opening. Tickets are $7. The second show is 21+, and starts at 10:30pm, with Slushy and Rabble Rabble opening. Tickets are $7 for that show as well.

The English Channel @ The Burlington

This newer dance party - featuring DJs Madam Panorama of Transistor and JS Alvarez of Loose Joints - favors UK music of the punk, post-punk, and new wave varieties such as the Smiths, Joy Division, and Gang of Four. The dancing begins at 10pm at the Burlington (3425 West Fullerton). Free.

Local Poet Night @ The Book Cellar

In honor of National Poetry Month, come out to The Book Cellar (4736-38 Lincoln Ave.) tonight at 7pm to celebrate local poets Robert McDonald, Katie Phillips, Richard Fox, and Larry Dean.
