"Reggae In Wrigleyville" @ Cubby Bear
In attempts to fill the void left by the closure of the legendary Wild Hare reggae nightclub, Cubby Bear has announced a new "Reggae In Wrigleyville" series. The series kicks off tonight with dancehall artists Red Rat and locals KOFI and DJ Slacky J. The music starts at 9pm and it's 21+. Tickets are $10 in advance at the Cubby Bear box office and $20 the day of the show.
Essay Fiesta @ Book Cellar
The charitable reading series Essay Fiesta returns to the Book Cellar for another night of storytelling featuring: director and writer Matt Miller; Neo-Futurist Dina Connoly; standup comic Bryan Bowden; author Sara Connell; and writer Willy Nast. The series is produced and hosted by comedian/writers Keith Ecker and Alyson Lyon, and includes a raffle with all proceeds going to the youth literacy organization 826 Chicago. SKALD 12 Kids Storytelling Workshop @ DCA Theater
