Head to the Altgeld-Sawyer Community Garden, at the corner of Altgeld and Sawyer avenues, today from 10am to 2pm for the Art Through Gardening Block Party, where a variety of arts and botanical organizations will come together to promote access to sustainable art & living through using materials from your garden. Chicago Rarities Orchard Project will feature a tasting of rare apples. Sol Air, Urban Worm Girl, Joe Baldwin of Noisivelvet, the Midwest Bonsai Society and Fluer flower shop will give demonstrations. Aaron Straus will assemble a sculpture made of organic materials that will degrade into the garden over the course of the summer focusing on the themes of Community, Privet Vs Public and Alternative Materials, while art collective Ibid will add an interactive layer to the day's activities through the technology of QR codes. Everyone who attends is invited to paint rain barrels. Free.
Fork and the Road Tours leads today's bike-guided tour of several of the city's best ice cream and gelato joints. Event runs 11am-3:30pm and starts/ends at Kitchen Sink Cafe, 1107 West Berwyn. Tickets $50.
Do Division Street Fest runs from noon to 10pm Saturday and Sunday on Division Street from Damen to Leavitt. Shop local stores and crafters, eat tasty food and drinks and enjoy music on two stages -- plus children's programming on a separate stage. $5 donation requested. Here's today's lineup:

It's the last day of Printers Row Lit Fest: today, Printers Row (Dearborn Street, Congress to Polk streets) will be filled with literary events, authors/speakers, and of course many, many books. If you're sitting on a stack of comic books that are collecting dust, and maybe not quite worth the hassle of eBay or Craigslist, check into the Evil Squirrel Comic Book Swap! It's recommended you arrive by 2pm with a typed (or well written) list of the books you wish to swap. The swapping will begin promptly at 2:30pm. The Wicker Park & Bucktown Farmers Markets begins today and runs Sundays from 8am-2pm at the actual Wicker Park, at Wicker Park & Damen.
The Pilsen Community Market begins today at 1800 South Halsted and runs Sundays from 9am-3pm.
Drama aside, the Logan Square Farmers Market begins today and runs Sundays from 10am-3pm at the southeast corner of Logan and Milwaukee.
The Glenwood Sunday Market begins today at 6950 N. Glenwood (between Morse & Lunt) and runs Sundays from 9am-2pm.
Maifest makes a mess of Lincoln Square June 2-5 this year. The festival celebrates the (hopefully) good spring weather with German food, music and lots of beer. The revelries continue at Lincoln and Leland avenues today from noon to 1opm.
