Chicago's Best Friend @ Double Door

Chicago's Best Friend, a canine talent show, is described as "'American Idol' for dogs" by its creator. See the finals at the Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave., today at 4pm. Tickets are $5.

Hopera: A Hip Hop Opera @ DuSable Museum

The DuSable Museum of African-American History, 740 E. 56th Pl., celebrates its 50th anniversary tonight with the return of Adrian Dunn's Hopera: A Hip Hop Opera, a story that integrates the world of hip-hop, opera and theater, all with an urban twist. The performance takes place at 6:30pm; tickets are $40 and can be purchased online. For more information, call 773-947-0600.

Chicago Green Music Fest

The Chicago Green Music Festival runs Saturday and Sunday on Damen Avenue between North and Schiller from noon to 10pm. Today's lineup includes, in order of appearance, Blane Fonda, Musikanto, Soft Speaker, Tight Phantomz, The Thermals and Les Savy Fav. In addition to the bands, the festival will feature environmentally conscious vendors, food and kid-friendly activities. $5 suggested donation.

Windy City Storm Slam's Crime and Punishment show

Criminal Class Press and the Windy City Storm Slam will hold the Crime and Punishment show, Sunday June 26th, 7:30pm, $5, at MultiKulti 1000 N. Milwaukee ave. The event is the release party for Criminal Class Review Issue 4.2.

Luxury Garage Sale @ Sofia

Sofia welcomes Luxury Garage Sale for a pop-up store inside of their boutique. Luxury Garage Sale features new or gently used contemporary and designer clothing, artwork, and other items for the home. Featuring designer clothing, jewelry, and handbags, the sale lasts until 5pm. Sofia is located at 72 East Oak Street. The store is open 11am to 7pm, Thursday through Saturday, and on Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.

Evanston Food Truck Festival

Evanston holds its first-ever Food Truck Festival today in Grey Park, 1051 Main St., from 11am to 2pm. Hummingbird Kitchen anchors, with unnamed cupcake and empanadas joining in.

Windy City Storm Slam's Crime and Punishment show

Gay Pride Parade/Festival

The annual Pride Parade kicks off from Belmont and Halsted at noon today (although it never, ever starts on time, FYI) and goes through Boys Town/Lakeview to a party at the lake (by Diversey and Cannon Drive). Bring your friends, water, and sunscreen!
