Facets Night School: Killer Klowns From Outer Space

Facets Cinematheque presents Facets Night School, its occasional series of midnight cult film screenings paired with guest lecture/discussion sessions. Tonight's movie is the 1988 clown nightmare Killer Klowns From Outer Space, with discussion by Joseph R. Lewis from the Elephant and Worm Educational Theater Company. Poetry Foundation Open House

The Poetry Foundation celebrates the completion of its new headquarters with an open house this weekend. Check the schedule for events. Doors open at 10am today. Free.

Fork and the Road Tours: 'Wich Way

Sample sandwiches of Puerto Rican, Vietnamese, and Mexican flavors today at this bike-guided tour of several sandwich spots in the city, led by Fork and the Road. Event runs 11am-3:30pm and starts/ends at Intelligensia Coffee, 53 E Randolph. Tickets $50.

Chicago Green Music Fest

The Chicago Green Music Festival runs Saturday and Sunday on Damen Avenue between North and Schiller from noon to 10pm. Today's lineup includes, in order of appearance, Midwest Hype, Secret Colours, The Meters Experience, The Life and Times, Trampled by Turtles and Yo La Tengo. In addition to the bands, the festival will feature environmentally conscious vendors, food and kid-friendly activities. $5 suggested donation.

City Provisions Farm Dinner

City Provisions is kicking off their farm dinner season today at Dietzler Farms in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Get onboard the biodiesel bus at 1pm, enjoy food & beer pairings from Half Acre Beer Company. At the farm, you will be given a full tour by the farmer, then sit down to a multi-course dinner paired with more of the brewery's beers. After dinner, participate in a bonfire, then board the bus back to Chicago.

Luxury Garage Sale @ Sofia

Sofia welcomes Luxury Garage Sale for a pop-up store inside of their boutique. Luxury Garage Sale features new or gently used contemporary and designer clothing, artwork, and other items for the home. Featuring designer clothing, jewelry, and handbags, the sale lasts through Sunday at 5pm. Sofia is located at 72 East Oak Street. The store is open 11am to 7pm, Thursday through Saturday, and on Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
