Dose Market brings together food and fashion at the River East Art Center, 435 E. Illinois St., from 10am to 4pm today. Peruse gourmet food and drink and shop the latest fashions; early shoppers this month will get to try a complimentary cocktail from The Aviary, among other treats. See a vendor list here. DMB Caravan @ Lakeside

Performances begin at 1:30pm today for the inaugural Dave Matthews Band Caravan festival in Chicago. It takes place at Lakeside, a former site of a steel mill, about 9 miles south of the Loop, between 79th and 87th Streets along Lake Michigan. (See the FAQ) Today's lineup includes: Dave Matthews Band, David Gray, The Flaming Lips performing Dark Side of the Moon, Emmylou Harris, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Gomez, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, The Jayhawks, Mariachi El Bronx, Jeff Coffin’s Mu’tet, The Wailers and the Grace Apostolic Church Choir. Roscoe Village Burger Fest

Roscoe Village hosts its annual Burger Fest street festival from 11am to 10pm Saturday and Sunday at Damen and Belmont, featuring, you guessed it, hamburgers from nine area restaurants, music on two stages and more fun for the kids and their parents. $6 suggested donation.

Chicago Folk & Roots Festival

The Old Town School of Folk Music presents the 14th annual Chicago Folk & Roots Festival at Welles Park (on Lincoln Avenue between Montrose & Sunnyside). Six stages running performances and workshops all day, plenty of food & crafts vendors, and much more. The festival happens today from noon to 9:30pm, and admission is a suggested donation of $10. P. Fanatics Reading Series

P. Fanatics reading series, more hi-jinks than hi-brow returns with its theme CATS. The reading is at Cole's bar (2338 N. Milwaukee), 8pm, no cover. Readers include: Jill Summers, Dan Shapiro, Lindsay Hunter, Robbie Q. Telfer and more.
