Come to Uncommon Ground for the September installment of Story Club, a storytelling series that has been featured in Time Out Chicago, Gapers Block, Metromix, the DePaul Writing Center website, and is recommended by the Chicago Tribune. Tonight's show has three featured readers and four open mic slots; open mic sign-up is at 8pm, go time at 8:30pm at Uncommon Ground (3800 N. Clark). This month's featured readers are: funny lady Kelsie Huff, Michigander Angela Benander, and Moth StorySLAM winner Kevin Gladish. Tonight's performance will be focused on the theme of September 11th, in honor of the 10 year anniversary of the attacks, bring your 9/11 story with you if you feel so moved. This event is free. Get your two cents in for the development of the ever anticipated Bloomingdale Trail. Come learn about how this former train track on the northwest side will be converted to an elevated park and trail! Your input will help shape the future of this almost 3-mile long linear park and bike trail that will allow Chicago residents and visitors to walk, run, bike and stroll for miles uninterrupted by traffic. The public meeting will be hosted at the Congress Theatre at 6pm.
