Taste of Fooditude

Kids' cooking webcast Fooditude's third annual Taste of Fooditude is tonight at the Chicago French Market, 131 N. Clinton St., tonight at 6pm. Come enjoy food and beverages from local restaurants and meet the finalists for this year's Fooditour. Tickets are $50 for adults, $25 for kids; get access to a pre-opening cocktail party at 5:30pm for $75.

Women's Voices from Ireland @ the Poetry Foundation

The Poetry Foundation is hosting a national tour of four Irish poets: Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, Rita Ann Higgins, Caitríona O'Reilly, and Leontia Flynn. The tour is part of Imagine Ireland 2011 and also coincides with the release of the poetry anthology The Wake Forest Book of Irish Women's Poetry. Poetry of the Shelf: Women's Voices from Ireland will feature the four women poets on Wednesday, October 26, at 7pm at the Poetry Foundation (61 W Superior). First-come, first-served! But admission is free.

Chicago Theatre 90th Anniversary Tour

The Chicago Theatre opened on Oct. 26, 1921, and in honor of its 90th birthday, the theater is offering special tours Monday through Wednesday at 6pm. The tours will include a rare performance by the theater's Wurlitzer pipe organ. Tickets are $15 in advance or $12 at the box office.

Bikes, Bites and Brews Tour

Sample the four food groups of Chicago (pizza, hot dogs, cupcakes and beer) while cruising on a bike ride though some of city's famous neighborhoods on the Bikes, Bites and Brews Tour. The tour will be making stops in Wrigleyville, the Gold Coast, Old Town, Lakeview and Lincoln Park while learning the history of the foods you ingest. Departing from Ogden Slip and River East Docks, 465 N. McClurg Ct. at 11:30am and lasting for four hours. Tickets are on sale now, $59 for adults $49 for students/seniors. Chicago Zine Fest 2012's Kickoff Fundraiser

Chicago Zine Fest is holding it's first fundraiser for thier 2012 festival by holding a zine and comics reading October 24th. Local self-publishers and mini-comics artists are scheduled to read. With zines being DIY in nature, the cover is $3-5 and is at a house, the Moving Castle 3317 N Kedzie. The event is all ages and begins at 7:30.
