Vincentennial, a Halloween tribute to Vincent Price (who would be 100 this year), screens today at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave. Come meet Price's daughter, Victoria Price, and watch a double feature of The House on Haunted Hill and The Last Man on Earth. Doors open at 1pm, first screening is at 2pm, ad everything's over by around 6:30pm. Tickets are $13 in advance, $15 at the door. All ages.
This benefit for Green City Market (organized by their Junior Board) features food from restaurants such as Sprout, Nightwood, and Old Town Social, as well as drinks from Death's Door and Goose Island. Prizes, entertainment, and costume-wearing is also on the menu. Get your Big Mac costume on and get over there! Event runs 4-8pm at Carnivale, 702 W Fulton Market. Tickets start at $65.
The Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N. River Road, will have an afternoon full of spooky Halloween tricks and fun for everyone with Halloween Magic. An old deserted mansion on "Boo Street" will be the backdrop for this year's show and at midnight the mansion comes alive with eerie residents. Also included in the program is "Quick Change." An amazing act of non-stop excellently executed dance with rapid costume transformations in seconds. 100% of proceeds from ticket sales will go to Salute, Inc. a non-profit organization that provides financial support for military men and women and their familes. The Old Town School of Folk Music presents a pair of Spooky Singalong family concerts at their building at 909 W. Armitage. The faculty of the school's Wiggleworms program will lead children in a program of Halloween songs. The shows are at 10am and 3pm; tickets are $9 ($8 for OTS members).
