America: Now and Here, a national project connecting artists and social issues, has its third Chicago event to discuss community engagement and artistic practice as well as The Bloomingdale Trail. Artists and expert presenters include Eric Fischl, Dawoud Bey, Theaster Gates, David Schalliol, Beth White and Rebecca Zorach. The free event runs from 5:30-8pm at the Dorchester Projects, 6918 S. The Logan Square Chamber of Commerce hosts a benefit dinner at the Logan Square Auditorium. Sample food from neighborhood restaurants, enjoy local music, and bid at the silent auction, which benefits the Logan Square Farmers Market and other programs of the Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $45 in advance and $55 at the door ($10 for children under 12). Reserve tickets online or by calling the Chamber at 773-489-3222.
