Black Tusk, Thou, Monstero, The Swan King @ Ultra Lounge

Deep down swamp metal touring acts Black Tusk and Thou play a show for the 9-5 metal loves in chicago. Local openers The Swan King break the polymorph spell to split into three dudes to rock out. Pints & Poses @ Metropolitan Brewing

Metropolitan Brewing opens its brewery at 5121 N. Ravenswood Ave. for "Pints & Poses," a 90-minute yoga session followed by a tasting of the brewery's beers, hosted by Prairieland Yoga and Brewvana. The event starts at 1pm; admission is $10. 21+

Vintage Bazaar Pop-up Shop

The Vintage Bazaar opens a holiday pop-up shop at 2133 N. Milwaukee Ave this weekend. Shop for vintage furniture, art, clothing and crafts from 14 vendors .The pop-up shop is open Nov. 12-13 from 10am to 7pm, with a preview party on Nov. 11.

Author Talks - Umberto Eco

The Tribune's Author Talks fall series concludes this afternoon with writer and philosopher Umberto Eco (of the infamous Foucault's Pendulum, and the upcoming The Prague Cemetery). The event, in co-presentation with the 22nd annual Chicago Humanities Festival, takes place at the Thorne Auditorium of Northwestern University Law School, 375 E. Chicago Ave., at 3pm, and costs $15.

Beyond Brokeback: A Staged Reading with Music @ Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University

The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 E. Congress Pkwy., presents Beyond Brokeback: A Staged Reading with Music, today at 2pm. The program will feature a screening of the award-winning film Brokeback Mountain, a panel discussion with Chicago film industry experts and staged readings of poetry and music inspired by the film. "Dr. Margaret Burroughs: In Her Own Words" @ DuSable Museum

The DuSable Museum of African American History, 740 E. 56th Pl., hosts The Congo Square Theatre Company's tribute to the museum's late founder, Dr. Margaret Burroughs. This free program, which features staged readings of works written by Burroughs, musical performances, poetry and a film screening of What Shall I Tell My Children Who Are Black?, takes place from 12pm-5pm today. P. Fanatics reading series: Choose Your Own Adventure

End Sunday night right by attending the P. Fanatics reading series as emcee Mason Johnson blows the audience's mind by bringing out the laughs with the theme: Choose Your Own Adventure. The 2nd Story "A Cold Day in Hell"

With the weather getting worse, The 2nd Story aptly titles its November reading "A Cold Day in Hell." Storytellers sharing their stories include Alex Bonner, Deb Lewis, Brandon Will, and Earl McLaurin. The stage is curated by CP Chang, directed by Tyler James Greene, with sound by Nick Kawahara. Chicago Zine Fest Open Meeting
