Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market

The Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market runs today and Sunday at the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse, 1419 W. Blackhawk, from 11am to 6pm. Shop more than 150 craft vendors from around the country. Free.

Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl

The fourth annual Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl kicks off today at noon at Houndstooth, 3369 N. Clark St. Wear the ugliest sweater you can find (holiday themed sweaters a plus) and drink in support of Imerman Angels. Tickets (aka donations) are $20 in advance, $30 at the door. 21+

Greg Kelley @ Lampo

Typeface @ SHoP

The Southside Hub of Production, 5638 S. Woodlawn Ave., and South Side Projections host a screening and discussion of Typeface, an award-winning documentary by Kartemquin Films, tonight at 7pm. The roundtable discussion after the film on the history and future of letterpress, with Typeface director Justine Nagan, April Sheridan of Columbia College’s Center for Book and Paper Arts, Martha Chiplis of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Celene Aubrey of the Lillstreet Art Center, radical printer and activist Dan S. Wang, and other artists. Free.

Julmarknad @ Swedish American Museum

Begin the holiday season at the Julmarknad, a weekend-long food, crafts and entertainment fair at the Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark. Caroling, accordion music, folkdancing, and a visit from Santa is scheduled! Nearby stores will have special deals going as well, so you can step out and do some shopping while you're in the mood. Cooking in the 21st Century South @ Chicago History Museum

The Culinary Historians of Chicago bring chef and author Virginia Willis to the Chicago History Museum (1601 N Clark) today from 10am to noon to talk about her latest book, Basic to Brilliant, Y'all (with samples thrown in, of course) and her life a a Southern cook. What's Your Art?: Celebrating Chicago's Art Centers @ The Cultural Center

Simultaneously embracing the holiday season and celebrating Chicago's rich landscape devoted to emerging artists and art education, "What's Your Art? Celebrating the Art Centers of Chicago" will take place at the Chicago Cultural Center (Yates Hall, 78 East Washington) today from 12 to 5pm. The event is free, but reservations are recommended. Across the city, remarkable places of art exhibition, classes, and public events exist to foster and inspire the development of art and culture. Each unique location has its own style, feel, and expertise and in an effort to share their mission and motivate those outside their regular audience, 12 extraordinary Art Centers from all across Chicago will come together under one roof. Additionally, new this year is the Marketplace where guests can purchase a variety of original artwork from the participating Art Centers perfect for the holiday season! "Reclaim the Power" @ International House

The University of Chicago's Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture presents "Reclaim the Power," today from 1pm-8pm. The program features a screening and lecture on The Black Power Mixtape, a documentary that explores the Black Power Movement during the post Civil Rights era. A concert featuring hip hop artists and activists including singer Dayna Lynn and rapper Rhymefest follows. Lincoln Square Christkindl Market

The Lincoln Square Christkindl Market runs Friday through Sunday, Dec. 2-4. In addition to the big tent featuring Christmas arts and crafts, live music and caroling, and German food and drinks, a free trolley will take you to a dozen other neighborhood destinations. The market is open today from 9am to 10pm. Free.

Fenn Fair Multiples Sale @ SHOP

Southside Hub of Production (SHOP), 5638 S Woodlawn Ave, is hosting Fenn Fair, a weekend exhibition and art/craft sale of multiples and reproducible objects. It is the kickoff of REPRODUCE+ABILITY. The exhibition will include printmakers, mixtape artists, self-publishers, photocopy artists, object and image-makers, and others. Sales run from 11am-5pm, followed by music and screenings throughout the evening. Free.
