Surround Sound of Fashion @ Harris Theater for Music and Dance

Tonight, the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph, hosts Surround Sound of Fashion at 8pm. The show, a mix of fashion, dance and music, will feature a fashion model runway show, dance groups, and a special performance by Grammy-nominated singer and actor Tyrese, along with singer Elle Varner. The Sea & Cake @ Empty Bottle

Chicago indie rockers The Sea & Cake play at the Empty Bottle tonight as they hit the hometown stage in honor of their latest album The Moonlight Butterfly. It's the band's last show of 2011, so come on out and lend them your ears. Luke Roberts and Brokeback open. 21+ Tickets are $18.The Empty Bottle is located at 1035 N. Western Ave.

International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers Vigil

The Sex Workers Outreach Project holds a vigil in honor of International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers tonight from 7pm to 8:30pm at the Jane Addams Hull House Museum, 800 S. Halsted St. Join current and former sex workers, allies, friends, families and others in remembrance of sex workers who have died at the hands of violent crimes.

The Interrupters @ Chicago Cultural Center

The Chicago Cultural Center hosts a free screening of the 2011 Kartemquin film The Interrupters this afternoon at 2pm at the Claudia Cassidy Theater in the center. Admission to the screening is free.

Stephanie Izard Book Signing @ Book Cellar

Bloodshot Records Holiday Whiskey Extravaganza @ Cobra Lounge

Head to a holiday party with one of Chicago’s notable music labels by RSVP-ing for free entry to the Bloodshot Records Holiday Whiskey Extravaganza tonight at the Cobra Lounge starting at 9pm. Bloodshot's honkey-tonk-tastic band Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Kurt from the Deadstring Brothers, and other special guests will perform. Plus, it’s a food drive to benefit the Casa Catalina Basic Human Needs Center in the Back of the Yards neighborhood (those who donate receive a special Bloodshot gift). Neutron Bomb Reading Series

Chicago's punk reading series Neutron Bomb hits Saturday December 17 with their mix of storytelling and live music. This month they welcome Lindsay Hunter (on Featherproof books), Dave Roche (On Subbing zine)
and Eliza Fogel (Columbia College Fiction Writing grad student)

There will be a stand up comedian and live music by Daylight Robbery (male/female vox playing punk new wave).

Stroll in to Cal's bar 400 S. Wells at 7pm before it gets rowdy.

I Fight Dragons @ Metro

I Fight Dragons plays a show at the Metro, 3730 N. Clark St., with The Protomen and The Kickback. Tickets are $13. Doors open at 6pm. All ages.

Santa Rampage Bike Ride

Stay active this winter by attending the Santa Rampage today starting at 11am with a meetup at the Twisted Spoke downtown followed by a journey to various liquor stores and holiday shops (arrive on time - there's a noon departure). The only caveat -- on this bike outing, you'll need a full costume. Only fully-dressed Santas, elves, or dreidels are allowed (homemade costumes are completely fine). RSVP on Facebook. Santa Sangre, The Last Circus @ Portage Theatre

A rare 35-millimeter print of Chilean director Alejandro Jodorowsky's Santa Sangre (1989), as well as The Last Circus (2010) and the short film "Bobby Yeah," (2011) will be screened at the Chicago Cinema Society at 7 p.m. The event is at the Portage Theatre, 4050 N.
