Tomorrow Never Knows 2012: Grouplove @ Lincoln Hall

If you were lucky enough to get tickets to this, you won't be disappointed. The Los Angeles based band Grouplove made a huge impression with their abundant energy when they played Lollapalooza 2011 and will probably be even better in the intimate and great sounding venue of Lincoln Hall. Crispin Hellion Glover @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre hosts a two-night appearance by none other than Crispin Hellion Glover. Tonight he's hosting a screening of his film "What is it?", along with a live dramatic presentation by Mr. Glover accompanied by a slide show. Handmade Market

The Handmade Market returns to the Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave., today from noon to 4pm. Peruse the handiwork of more than two dozen local artisans while enjoying the Bottle's ambiance and perhaps a beer. 21+ except for children accompanying an adult.

Pharoahe Monch @ Double Door

Hip-Hop veteran Pharoahe Monch is bringing his conviction-filled sound to Double Door, 1572 N Milwaukee Ave., tonight at 9pm. Most known for his instant classic, Simon Says, his performance is sure to make everyone "Get the F* Up." Tickets are $20. 21+.

Sketchfest

The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, aka Sketchfest, runs from Jan. 5 to Jan. 15 this year at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. At least a dozen shows run every night; see the schedule for tonight's performances. Tickets are $12-13 each, available online or through the box office at 773-327-5252.

Free Sailor Jerry Tattoos @ Chicago Tattooing Co.

Sailor Jerry Rum celebrates the 101st birthday of its namesake by offering free tattoos of some of his iconic designs at Chicago Tattooing Company, 1017 W. Belmont Ave., today from noon on. The deal is first come, first served, so get there early and expect a line.

Second Saturday Silent Cinema @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre presents the latest in their Second Saturday Silent Cinema screenings of silent films accompanied by in-house organist Dennis Scott. Today's title is Show People from 1928, starring Marion Davies, with cameos by Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, and Norma Talmadge. The film screens today at noon.
