The Old Town School of Folk Music presents a workshop on comics -- their history, how they convey meaning, and now you can create your own. The workshop is available to adults and teens, and is free to take. Materials will be provided. The workshop happens this evening at 7:30pm as part of the school's celebration of the opening of their new building at 4545 North Lincoln Avenue. The workshop takes place in the new building.
The Le Cordon Bleu (361 West Chestnut) serves an eight course chocolate tasting menu tonight from 6:30-9pm. Some delicious-sounding stuff is on the menu (chocolate-braised short ribs? Yes). Tickets $79; reservations required.
Tonight from 6-9pm at High Dive bring some donations for a blanket and coat drive benefiting Porchlight, an organization in Madison, WI that provides emergency shelter, services, counseling and traditional housing to the homeless. Last weekend a fire ravaged their traditional housing area and they're desperately searching for any of the following items: new / gently used clothing & winter apparel, towels, twin/double sheets, blankets, staple foods packaged in cardboard, paper or plastic. Come with your new/gently used items to donate, stick around to enjoy light appetizers and some craft brews, leave feeling a bit warm and fuzzy! High Dive is located at 1938 W. Chicago Ave.
