Quimby's 24 Hour Zine Challenge Reading

Quimby's bookstore is celebrating the results of their 24 Hour Zine Challenge with a reading from those who participated in this momentous occasion. Zinesters and artists will read from work they completed or began during the zine challenge. Stop by the store Saturday January 28th at 7pm. Quimby's is located at 1854 W. North Ave.

The Blackout Diaries @ The Beat Kitchen

The Blackout Diaries is an interactive comedy show. Four of Chicago's funniest standups tell true stories of booze, crazy nights and bad decisions. You (the audience) then ask questions.

Indie Wed @ Ravenswood Event Center

If you're getting married (or know someone who is), Indie Wed is a great way to meet many local vendors. Event is at Ravenswood Event Center, 4043 N Ravenswood, from 10am-4pm today; tickets $15 single, $25 couple; $20 at the door.

Lincoln Square Winter Brew

The Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce and the Square Kegs Home Brew Club host the first annual Winter Brew tonight in the fifth floor ballroom at Dank Haus, 4740 N. Western Ave., from 7pm to 11pm. Enjoy beers from five of Chicago's microbreweries (plus microdistiller Koval), as well as food from The Grafton Pub and Fountainhead. Ladytron DJ Set @ Berlin

Reuben Wu of Ladytron spins a set at Berlin, 954 W. Belmont Ave., tonight, followed by "Twisted" by DJ Chester. ASL will be taking photos. Doors open at 10pm; admission is $7. 21+

Celebration of Shrinkage 2012 @ Oak Street Beach

The Lakeview Polar Bear Club is set to take the plunge at Oak Street Beach, 1000 N Lake Shore Dr., today at noon. Shrinkage swimmers should arrive at 11am. Registration is $30, unless already preregistered.
