Chicago Zine Fest Fundraiser with Punk Rock Karaoke

Chicago Zine Fest is holding its last fundraiser before the fest. They team up with Punk Rock Karaoke Chicago, who bring DIY music to a one of a kind karaoke experience. The co-hosts will be Johnny Misfit and Mason Johnson.

The event begins at 9pm, Beauty Bar, 1444 W. Chicago, 21+. There is a $5 cover which goes to the zine fest.

Smith Westerns @ Metro

If you aren't familiar with Smith Westerns, you might be living in a rock, which is unusual because we don't have the very big ones that are able to hide human beings effectively in Chicago. The band is one of the very best our city has to offer, with extreme amounts of talent for guys so young and a stage presence as lush and undeniable as their recorded tracks. Ti West double feature @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre and The AV Club present a double feature by director Ti West. His 2009 horror film House of the Devil will be screened, as well as his latest film The Innkeepers. Damian Serbu @ Women and Children First

Tonight, Women and Children First welcomes local author Damian Serbu ("the Anne Rice of gay horror"). He'll be reading from his newest The Vampire's Quest: Book II in the Vampire's Angel Series. Women and Children First, 5233 N. Clark, at 7:30pm.

Schadenfreude Rent Party

Sketch comedy trouple Schadenfreude hosts Rent Party Boogaloo tonight at Beat Kitchen, 2100 W. Belmont Ave., tonight at 8pm. The variety show includes comedian and Vocalo radio host Brian Babylon, writer/performer Samantha Irby, songwriter Julie Frost, and many of your favorite Schadenfreude characters. Tickets are $10 online or at the door. 21+

Corn Productions Presents Sophomore Album

No doubt you've heard about the viral video floating around Facebook and YouTube "Sh*t Chicagoans Say" made by local aspiring actors Robert Bacon, Marie Maloney, and Tess Borgerding.  You can catch Mr. Bacon and a couple of his buddies in his Improv group Sophomore Album tonight at 11:00 at the Cornservatory in Northcenter 4210 N. Lincoln Ave (or is it Lincoln Square??). The show promises to offer long form improv, sketch comedy, game show style drinking games, and improv team battles. Tickets are $10 and its BYOB, so that means make sure you bring your 40 oz.  Buy your tickets in advance here.

Sky Lines Opening @ The Charnel House

Charnel House, 3421 W. Fullerton Ave., launches its new Chapel Projects space with the installation of Sky Lines, featuring installation by artist Robin Dluzen. The opening reception is tonight from 6pm to 9pm; the exhibit will be on view through Feb. 19. Free.

Opening: A Series of Poor Decisions @ Inkling

Join fellow art lovers for adorable (and affordable) art by local artist Brian Beard at Inkling in Lakeview. Enjoy beverages and bahn mi sandwiches while you browse. Megan, Dana and Me @Donny's Skybox

Megan, Dana and Me is an improvised show that opens this Friday, February 3rd in Donny's Skybox (inside Second CIty) and runs through Friday, February 24th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $13 general public, $10 for students and $8 for training center students, and can be purchased here, or by calling the box office. 312-337-3992 (a little tip - it's cheaper if you call the box office)
