The Post Family, 1821 W. Hubbard St, #202, hosts a release party for Trubble Club Issue #5 tonight from 7pm to 10pm. Pick up the issue, potentially watch some of the club's members do a live collaborative cartoon, and check out original drawings. More info here. Free.
Reading Under the Influence returns tonight at 7pm, collaborating with Columbia College's Story Week Festival of Writers and Chicago Public Library's One Book, One Chicago program. Featured readers are all Columbia College Fiction Writing department faculty and staff. Showcasing original work will be Fiction Writing Chair Randy Albers and professors Eric May and Ann Hemenway. The department's secretary Nicole Chakalis will read a selection from this year's chosen "One Book," Gold Boy, Emerald Girl by Yiyun Li. RUI is always in the back room of Sheffield's, 3258 N.
