Curators Bare All @ Chicago History Museum

Join Northwestern University professor Bill Savage and his brother, writer Dan Savage, as they discuss making of the Out in Chicago exhibit with exhibit co-curators Jill Austin and Jennifer Brier. Curators Bare All "will explore what can happen when themes such as diversity, identity, privacy and the struggles of urban life relating to LGBT people, as they emerged from both the collection vaults of history and from the streets of our contemporary communities, to queue up for curatorial interpretation in a gallery experience available to broader visitors at large." Cocktails will be served from 5:30pm, with the conversation beginning at 6:30pm. Admission is $12, $10 for members and students. Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 312-642-4600.

Miracles of Modern Science @ Hideout

Miracles of Modern Science fills your void of bands formed at Ivy League schools who play indie-rock as if it were classical. Instead of guitars, the band relies on a mandolin, cello and violin to provide its hooks. Their 2011 album Dog Year was a late surprise for the type of people who put out their best-of lists before Halloween. Miracles of Modern Science opens for Saint Motel and Chicago's Speck Mountain at the Hideout. The show's $8, 21+ and starts at 9PM. The Hideout's at 1354 W Wabansia.

AYS Fundraiser @ Chief O'Neill's

Chief O'Neill's, 3741 N. Elston Ave., hosts a fundraiser for Asian Youth Services tonight from 7pm to 10pm. AYS studets will perform ballet and percussion showcases, chef Alan Lake will perform with his band, Casa de Soul, and there will be a silent auction for items including tickets to an upcoming Bulls-Knicks game. The restaurant will also donate 25 percent of all food and beverage sales to AYS. Call 773-473-5263 for reservations.

Mixologist Mash-up

Tonight from 6pm to 9pm at Jackson Junge Gallery, 1389 N. Milwaukee Ave., the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce hosts the Mixologist Mash-up. Bartenders from The Boundary, Club Lucky, Pint, Subterranean and Wicker Park Tavern will compete to create a cocktail that best symbolizes the Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods. Tickets are $25, and gets you samples of each cocktail, appetizers, a free subscription to Time Out and 20 percent off Drink Deck bar discount cards.

Jip Jop @ Double Door

Chicago hip hop stylists Jip Jop head to the Double Door tonight before leaving for SXSW in the morning (we'll be following along in Transmission). See them live, along with Bassel and the Supernaturals, Murley Shertz, and Cobalt and the Hired Guns. Doors 7:30pm, Show 8:00pm. Tickets are $5-$8. 21+ The Double Door is located at 1572 N. Erin Go Beer! Irish Pubs of Chicago @ Chicago History Museum

Get on the Chicago History Museum's trolley of fun for a trip of several of the city's most Irish pubs to celebrate the upcoming Saint Patty's Day. Event runs 7-10pm; admission $25-30. Museum is at Clark an North Avenue.

Josie and the Pussycats @ Doc Films

Doc Films, Max Palevsky Cinema in Ida Noyes Hall at The University of Chicago, 1212 E. 59th St., pairs with WHPK to present a series titled "Roxploitation." Tonight's screening is Josie and the Pussycats at 9:30pm. Tickets are $5.
