Woodsman & Grandeurs @ The Empty Bottle

The Krautrock worshiping, psychadelica loving dudes of Woodsman are playing at The Empty Bottle on March 28. Local snowblind reverb soaked folkies Grandeurs open. The show starts at 9:30 pm. Tickets are $8. 21+ The Empty Bottle is located at 1035 N. Western Ave. We reviewed Grandeurs debut EP in Transmission.

Gapers Block Crits

Half Acre Cycling hosts the third annual Gapers Block Crits March 26 through March 29 in Calumet Park (detailed location on the registration page). The first race starts at 6:10pm each day, with the last starting at 7:30pm. Online registration is closed; walk-up registration is $10 per day. And even if you're not riding, you can watch and cheer racers on for free!

Anoushka Shankar @ Pick-Staiger

Grammy-nominated sitar player Anoushka Shankar leads a performance of Traveler, a blending of traditional Spanish and Indian music, at the Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, 50 Arts Circle Dr. in Evanston, at 7:30pm tonight. Tickets are $26, $10 for students.

Soup and Bread @ Hideout

The Hideout (1354 W Wabansia) hosts Soup and Bread, which is a casual soup-eating event and fundraiser for a local food-related charity. Donate what you can; eat what you will. Event runs 5:30-7:30pm.
