"Think Like A Man" @ Jokes & Notes

Jokes and Notes, 4641 S. King Dr., presents Damon Williams as he hosts "Think Like A Man," a stand-up comedy showcase and contest centered on the Steve Harvey bestseller and upcoming movie Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man. Doors open at 8pm, with two shows at 8:30pm and 10:30pm; contestant sign-in is at 8:30p, with the winner receiving a $100 cash prize. Give Me 5 @ The Playground

Each Wednesday at 10pm, Chicago's brightest up-and-coming performers have the opportunity to test the audience waters through stand-up, video, song, dance - you name it! In homage to the Saturday Night Live audition process, Give Me 5 has adopted a new requirement of a time-honored and special talent - the celebrity impression.

Tickets are $5 and available at the Playground Theater's box office (3209 N. Halsted).

"Celebrating Life" With R&B Singer Conya Doss @ Ruth CORE Center

The Ruth M. Rothstein CORE Center, 2020 W. Harrison, presents "Celebrating Life," with special guest R&B songstress Conya Doss, today from 11:30am-1:30pm. The event, which targets individuals living with HIV who live in homeless shelters, recovery centers, transitional correctional facilities, etc., will also highlight the "healthy living" concept of health care.
