The Halliday Brand @ Portage Theater

Tonight at 7:30pm, the Northwest Chicago Film Society screens Joseph Lewis's classic Western The Halliday Brand at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave. Their classic film series continues every Wednesday. Admission is $5.

Filmspotting live show @ Lincoln Hall

Filmspotting, the local movie review podcast, celebrates its 400th show with a live taping tonight at Lincoln Hall (2424 N. Lincoln Avenue). The show starts tonight at 7:30pm, and features special guests Michael Phillips from the Chicago Tribune and Dana Stevens from Slate. It's a 21+ show, and tickets are $10. Reading Under the Influence

Reading Under the Influence is back tonight at 7pm in the back room of Sheffield's, 3258 N. Sheffield Ave., with an appropriate theme for a Wrigleyville area bar: "Pain (The Baseball Edition)." Food Truck Social

Satisfy your food truck craving and help support the non-profit Rock For Kids all in one trip tonight at a special Food Truck Social in the parking lot at 1540 N. Fremont St. from 5:30-8pm. Participating trucks include Duck N' Roll, The Wiener Wagon (from Chubby Wieners), Starfruit, the Wagu Wagon, and La Adelita. The lot is in Lincoln Park at the corner of Fremont and Weed. Nearest Red Line stop: North & Clybourn; buses: North Ave. or Halsted. RSVP and invite friends on Facebook. 15% of sales will go to Rock for Kids so the organization can continue providing quality music education to underserved children of Chicago.

Chicago Forward: The Status of Women in Chicago

The Tribune's Bruce Dold and Melissa Harris moderate a discussion about women in the workplace and society at the Chase Auditorium. Panelists include Christine Bork, CEO, YWCA Metropolitan Chicago; Nora Dunn, actor and comedian; Cheryle Jackson, VP Government Affairs and Corporate Development, AAR Corp. and Sheli Rosenberg, Of Counsel, Skadden.
