Newberry Book Fair

The 28th annual Newberry Book Fair runs July 26-29 at the Newberry Library, 60 W. Walton St. Browse more that 120,000 used books for sale, most for under $2. Admission is free. The fair runs from 10am to 6pm today.

Dose Market

Dose Market celebrates its first birthday from 10am to 4pm today at the River East Art Center, 435 E. Illinois St. Shop boutique clothiers, local artisans and gourmet food purveyors -- Details here. Admission is $8 in advance, $10 at the door.

Randolph Street Market

The Randolph Street Market is this weekend, July 28-29 at Plumbers Hall, 1340 W. Washington St. Browse antiques from more than 200 dealers inside and outside the hall from 10am to 5pm today -- and this year there's also a vinyl record swap meet, gourmet food market and "global goods bazaar." Admission is $8 in advance online, $10 at the door ($3/$5 for students).

Fork and the Road: Global Snack Attack

Fork and the Road food tours by bike embarks on a Global Snack Attack today, tasting snacks from Latin America, Italy, Serbia and India. The 14-mile tour pushes off from the Kitchen Sink Cafe, 1107 W. Berwyn Ave., at 11am, and ends back there at 4pm. Tickets are $50.

Wicker Park Fest

Wicker Park Fest shuts down Milwaukee Avenue from North to Paulina Saturday and today from noon to 10pm. Dozens of bands, plenty of food and drink, and vendors of various sorts will give you plenty to do. There will also be an arts festival component featuring Red Moon Theatre and the Defibrillator Gallery and a Kids Fest in the Walgreen's parking lot at 1372 N. Milwaukee Ave. from noon to 6pm. $5 donation requested.

Celebrate Clark Street Festival

The seventh annual Celebrate Clark Street Festival runs Saturday and today on Clark Street between Morse and Touhy. Enjoy music and dance from Latin America, Africa and elsewhere on two stages, plus international food and vendors. Suggested donation is $5 per person, $10 per family. The festival runs from 1pm to 10pm today.
