Chik-Fil-Gay Appreciation Day @ Hearty

Hearty, 3819 N. Broadway, is holding a special Chik-Fil-Gay Appreciation Day dinner tonight from 5pm to 10pm. The menu will feature a fried chicken breast sandwich on a toasted buttered bun with pickles and a side of fries for $10, with all proceeds going to Equality Illinois for marriage equality. Veggie Bingo @ Hideout

The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., hosts Veggie Bingo from 5:30 to 8pm on Wednesdays through Sept. 12. Co-sponsored by NeighborSpace, Hideout Veggie Bingo features a grand prize of fresh produce from Irv and Shelly's Fresh Picks, plus many more prizes donated by various local organizations and individuals. There are also free hot dogs donated by Hot Doug's! Bingo cards are $2 each, or three for $5; all proceeds benefit local gardens.

Reading Under the Influence

The monthly reading series Reading Under the Influence is back Wednesday August 1st with the theme 'Camp'. Featured readers are Geoff Hyatt (author of At the World's End), Jenny Seay (host of the Tamale Hut reading series), blogger Samantha Irby, and Patrick Wensink (author of Broken Piano for President who is recently being sued by Jack Daniels over the likeness of a logo used on his book cover. Someone make sure to buy him a shot).

RUI's home is the back room of Sheffield's 3258 N. Sheffield Ave. beginning at 7pm, $3 cover.

Full Moon Jam

Full Moon Jam, an evening of music and fire dancing held under the full moon, happens tonight from sundown to 10:15pm (weather permitting) in the fields south of Foster Beach in Lincoln Park, at roughly 5000 N. Lake Shore Drive. Full schedule and details here. Free.

Stage Struck @ Portage Theater

Tonight at 7:30pm, the Northwest Chicago Film Society screens Sidney Lumet's Stage Struck at the Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave. Their classic film series continues every Wednesday. Admission is $5.

Sabrina Chap @ Uncommon Ground

Queer neo-vaudevillian Sabrina Chap celebrates the release of her latest album, We Are the Parade, at Uncommon Ground on Devon, 1401 W. Devon Ave., tonight at 8pm. White City Rippers opens. Free.
