Lollapalooza @ Grant Park

The annual 3-day festival known as Lollapalooza gets underway in Grant Park today at 11:30am with a lineup that ranges from kid-friendly bands and classic indie favorites to massive chart-busting rockers and DJs. Plan your day of music around sets from the likes of The Afghan Whigs, Sharon Van Etten, Metric, Passion Pit, M83 and The Black Keys, just to name a few. Look for previews and reviews of the weekend's festivities in Transmission.

Screenprinting Session @ Metrospective

The Metro closes its Metrospective pop-up 30th anniversary exhibition in the Inland Steel Building, 77 S. Dearborn St., from 3pm to 5pm today with a discussion and live screenprinting session with Steve Walters of Screwball Press and Ryne Estwing and Dan Polyak from the Metro's design department. Come by and pull a print. Free.

The Interview Show @ Hideout

Mark Bazer hosts The Interview Show at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., tonight from 6:30pm to 8pm. Tonight's guests will be author Gillian Flynn, Lagunitas Brewing founder Tony Magee and the creators of musical game show "Shame That Tune." There will also be a performance from the upcoming production of Hair at the Hideout. $8 at the door. 21+

SEXomedy @ Teatro Luna

Teatro Luna presents SEXomedy, a one-woman show by Artistic Associate Melissa DuPrey, tonight at Luna Central, 3914 N. Clark St. Doors are at 7:30pm, performance at 8pm. Tickets are $10 online or at the box office.

The Silent Film Society of Chicago Presents: The Spiders

The 2012 Silent Summer Film Festival continues tonight with a screening of the 1919 Fritz Lang film The Spiders, starring Carl De Vogt and Ressel Orla. Film starts at 8pm. Live organ accompaniment by Jay Warren, with an introduction by Film Historian Ken Irvin. Tickets are $7.50 in advance, $12 at the door. The Portage Theater is located at 4050 N. Mix Master Mike @ Vertigo Sky

Mix Master Mike, best known for his collaborations with the Beastie Boys, will be spinning at Vertigo Sky Lounge in the Dana Hotel, 2 W. Erie St., tonight and Saturday. Doors open at 9pm, show starts at 10pm. Tickets are $40, or $35 if you're lucky enough to catch the early bird special. 21+
