Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival

The Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival runs Aug. 17-19 on Morse Avenue and Glenwood Avenue, with music, theater, art and food from around Rogers Park and the city. Tonight's kickoff Cobblestone Jam runs from 6pm to 10pm and features Whiskey for Jesus, the Dimestore String Band and the Muddflapps. (No art or vendors exhibiting tonight.) Free.

A 10pm aftershow at Morseland, 1218 W. Morse Ave., features Room 11 & Baby Brutha. 21+

Catzilla! @ Prop Thtr

Prop Thtr, 3502 N. Elston Ave., is the setting for Catzilla!, a cat-themed performance and art show this weekend, Aug. 17-19. Check out cat art in the exhibition starting at 6:30pm tonight, then stick around for feline cabaret performances beginning at 8pm. Exhibition and performances continue on Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. Admission is $15 or pay what you can, with proceeds benefiting the theater.

Noir City: Chicago @ Music Box

The Silent Film Society of Chicago Presents: Stella Dallas

The 2012 Silent Summer Film Festival continues tonight with a screening of the 1925 film Stella Dallas, starring Belle Bennett and Ronald Colman, directed by Henry King. Live photoplay accompaniment by Tim Baker on the organ. Film starts at 8pm. Tickets are $7.50 in advance, $12 at the door. The Portage Theater is located at 4050 N. Milwaukee Avenue. Soul Summit presents Myron & E @ Double Door

Chicago's Soul Summit crew welcomes soul-singing duo Myron & E to Wicker Park's Double Door (1572 N. Milwaukee Ave) tonight for a heavy dose of Motown Sound, Northern Soul and funk. The dynamic San Francisco crooners will be backed by Nashville's Magnificent G.E.D. Soul All-Stars and the Soul Summit DJs. The show is free but you gotta be 21+ to get in.

The Very Best @ Lincoln Hall

Come check out African fusion dance pop group The Very Best tonight at Lincoln Hall. The 21+ show starts at 10pm, and tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door. Seye and Kid Static will open. Lincoln Hall is located at 2424 N. Lincoln Ave.,

Lebowski Burlesque @ Viaduct

Vaudzilla remounts its show Rollin’ Outta Here Naked: A Big Lebowski Burlesque starting tonight at the Viaduct Theatre, 3111 N. Western Ave. The show features burlesque parody sketches of the film The Big Lebowski with Logan Conner, Red Hot Annie, Wham Bam Pam, Trixie Sparx as The Nihilist, Mister Junior, Mia D. Vine, Viva La Muerte, Kyle Greer and more performing. The show runs Friday and Saturday nights at 10pm from Aug. 17 to Sept. 22. Tickets are $17.

Mannequin Men @ Empty Bottle

Mannequin Men will follow Hollows this summer by presumably calling it quits when a band member shuffles off to New York. Miles Raymer will be leaving the garage/punk band, but not before playing one more inevitably raucous set. Mannequin Men headline the Empty Bottle. The show's $8 in advance, $10 at the door, 21+ and starts at 10PM. Outer Minds and Football open. The Empty Bottle's at 1035 N Western.

The Room @ Music Box
