Druckworks: 40 Years of Books & Projects by Johana Drucker opens at the Center for Book and Paper Arts at Columbia College, 1104 S. Wabash, 2nd Flr., with a reception tonight from 5pm to 8pm. Free.

The third annual Chicago Fringe Festival brings 50 performance groups to Pilsen for shows Aug. 30 through Sept. 9. More than a dozen pieces of experimental theatre are staged today in five venues starting at 7pm; see schedule for more details. Tickets for individual performances are $10, or buy a five- or 10-pack or full festival pass.
Come to Uncommon Ground (3800 N. Clark St.) for the September installment of Story Club. The theme this month is "falling", and features readings by JT Berg, Nico Lang, Caitlin Bergh, and Alexandra Tsarpalas. In addition there are 4 open mic slots for storytelling hopefuls.
