Chicago Turkish Festival

The 10th Annual Chicago Turkish Festival begins today at Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington St., at 10am. It features live folk dance performances, art, music, fashion, and more. More than 40 booths will sell authentic Turkish cuisine and handicrafts. Free admission. Festival ends at 6 pm, and resumes tomorrow.

Lakeview East Festival of the Arts

The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts runs Saturday and today on Broadway between Belmont and Hawthorne avenues. Enjoy live music and food while exploring the work of more than 130 artists. The festival runs from 10am to 5pm today. $5 suggested donation.

Renegade Craft Fair

The 10th annual Renegade Craft Fair fills Division Street from Damen to Paulina Saturday and today from 11am to 7pm. Browse the wares of more than 300 artisans from around the country. Free.

Kegs for Kids

The third annual Kegs for Kids benefit for Peirce Elementary School is today from noon to 5pm at Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St. Bid on a silent auction while tasting more than 60 beers as well as food from neighborhood restaurants. Tickets are $40 in advance, $50 at the door. 21+

The Vintage Bazaar

The Vintage Bazaar fills the Aragon Ballroom, 1106 W. Lawrence Ave., from noon to 5pm today. Browse more than 200 vendors of vintage decor, housewares, furniture, clothing, jewelry and accessories. CHIRP Radio deejays, and local restaurants serve food, beer and cocktails. Admission is $5, free for children under 12.

German American Fest

Lincoln Square's German American Fest runs Sept. 7-9 at the intersection of Lincoln and Leland avenues. Enjoy German draft beer, sausage and pretzels, German music and other cultural programming. Admission is free. The festival runs from noon to 11pm tonight.

Homestead Pig Roast

Homestead, 1924 W. Chicago Ave., hosts a pig roast on its rooftop deck today from 1pm to 5pm, featuring a 100 lb. Swabian Hall pig, apps and sides, sweets from West Town Bakery, and Templeton Rye cocktails. Tickets are $45 per person, available online.

A Magical Vision @ Chicago History Museum

The Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., screens A Magical Vision, a documentary on magician Eugene Burger, today at 1:30pm. Burger will be on hand for a Q&A after the film. Free with museum admission or membership.

Chicago Fringe Festival

The third annual Chicago Fringe Festival brings 50 performance groups to Pilsen for shows Aug. 30 through Sept. 9. More than two dozen pieces of experimental theatre are staged today in five venues starting at 2:30pm; see schedule for more details. Tickets for individual performances are $10, or buy a five- or 10-pack or full festival pass.

Uptown Poetry Slam

Part of a busy month of diverse events, the Sunday night Uptown Poetry Slam continues with slam originator Marc Smith (so what!) at the helm. The Green Mill provides the space, the poets bring the funk and you bring the noise. Tonight from 7-10pm, $6. 21+over. The Green Mill Jazz Club, 4802 N. Broadway.

Bike-In Movie Theater: The Last Waltz @ Hideout

The Hideout presents the latest screening in their Bike-In Movie Theater series. Tonight's film is Martin Scorsese's The Last Waltz, which screens at 7:30pm on the Hideout's patio.
