Veggie Bingo @ Hideout

The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., hosts Veggie Bingo from 5:30 to 8pm on Wednesdays. Co-sponsored by NeighborSpace, Hideout Veggie Bingo features a grand prize of fresh produce from Irv and Shelly's Fresh Picks, plus many more prizes donated by various local organizations and individuals. There are also free hot dogs donated by Hot Doug's! Bingo cards are $2 each, or three for $5; all proceeds benefit local gardens.

Big Night Benefit @ Chicago Cultural Center

The Friends of Animal Care and Control bring you a night of food and entertainment in the name of the city's animal shelter at Big Night, which runs 6:30-9:00pm at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E Washington. Tickets $100-125.

Story Lab @ Black Rock

Story Lab stands apart from other series in the city in its accessibility and unmitigated audience support for the performers. Join storytellers and story lovers at the Black Rock Pub, 3614 N. Damen Ave., where each month, an entirely different lineup of up-and-coming storytellers share their freshest pieces. This month's readers include: Robin Gelfenbien, Carolyn Guido, Jill Howe, Greg Poljacik, Julie Sadowski, Philip Siegel, and Rachael Smith. Hosted by Scott Whitehair of the reading series This Much is True. Show starts at 7:30pm, and is free. The Chicago, I Love You festival continues at Lilly's, 2515 N. Lincoln Ave., with a panel discussion at 8pm moderated by Marcus Gilmer on DIY/Innovators, followed by Jazz Night at 10pm hosted Corbin Andrick. Free, 21+.
