The Chicago by the Book reading series brings together the authors of great reads about the city with an adoring audience (this means you, my friend). Discussion is moderated by author and NU prof Bill Savage; book signing to follow. Tonight's author is Dmitry Samarov (Hack: Stories From a Chicago Cab). Event runs 6:30-8pm at the UC Gleacher Center, 450 North Cityfront Plaza Drive; admission $10.
The Hideout presents the latest in the "Write Club" series, where local performers and authors take up differing sides of a literary conflict and battle it out for charity. Tonight's bouts: FIGHT (Christian Stolte) vs. FLIGHT (David Pasquesi); THEORY (Mare Swallow) vs. PRACTICE (Michael Patrick Thornton); and LOST (Dave Snyder) vs. FOUND (Ian Belknap).
