Oktoberfest Chicago

Oktoberfest kicks off in the West Lakeview neighborhood at St. Alphonsus Church, 1429 W. Wellington Ave., with German food, music, arts & crafts, and of course, beer. Join the fun to celebrate Deutschland the Chicago way. Festivities begin at 5pm, and end at 11pm. $5 admission.

McToberfest @ DANK Haus

The Irish American Heritage Center and DANK Haus German American Cultural Center team up to host the second annual McToberfest tonight at DANK Haus, 4740 N. Lincoln Ave., from 5pm to midnight. Enjoy Irish and German beer, spirits and food, while Jimmy's Bavarians, Gerry Haughey and the Identity Irish Dancers perform. Tickets are $10 at the door. 21+

Treehouse at Jerry's

Local band Treehouse performs at Jerry's Sandwiches in Wicker Park tonight. Bassist Martin Stonikas describes the bands sound as, "Kinda of folk-ish rock, the album is acoustic, but we are now more electric; elements of African music and jazz and grunge rock." Red Bull Thre3Style Pre-Qualifiers @ The Mid

The third "pre-qualifier" for the Red Bull Thre3Style World Finals is tonight at The Mid, 306 N. Halsted St. Turntablists DJ 8Man, DJ Nicco, DJ Butcher, DJ Pho and DJ Twist compete to make it to the finals on Saturday at the Metro. Special guests Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus and DJ Zebo also perform. Tickets are $10. Doors open at 9pm. 21+

Radiolab Live @ Chicago Theatre

NPR's "Radiolab" takes to the stage at the Chicago Theatre, 175 N. State St., tonight at 8pm. Hosts Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich will explore the theme of "In the Dark" with athletic dance troupe Pilobolus and composer Thao Nguyen. Tickets are $28-78.

The Shit Show @ Shambles

Shambles, 2050 W. Division, hosts "The Shit Show" tonight at 8:30pm. This free show, hosted by Rasa Geirstikas and Ever Mainard, is a hybrid of stand-up, storytelling, improv, features Kate Duffy, Brian Babylon, Kristin Clifford, Ted Tremper and more. For more information, call 773-486-0200.

Chicago Ukulele Cabaret @ Chief O'Neill's

Chicago Ukulele Cabaret, the regular series of open-mike ukulele performances, happens this evening at Chief O'Neill's (3471 N. Elston Avenue) starting at 9pm. Tonight's theme is "Uke Soundtracks". Participants are invited to being up to three songs from (or based on) movies, TV, or theatrical productions. An advance sign-up list is available at the event's Facebook page. The Congregation @ Martyrs'
