Ska veterans Mustard Plug headline the Metro, 3730 N. Clark St., tonight, with Koffin Kats, Green Room Rockers, Masked Intruder and Continental opening. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $13 in advance, $15 at the door. 18+
The Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., screens Barrymore, starring Christopher Plummer, at 7:30pm tonight. Tickets at $9.25.
The Straight and Narrow, a new comedy written by Jane Blackburn Hammer and Tyler Gillespie that "explores why people would attend a seminar/camp like this and the ways society conditions people to 'act straight,'" debuts at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., tonight at 8pm. Tickets are $12 ($10 for students) online or at the box office.
Lotus, an electronic-inspired jam band, begins its New Years run in Chicago with the first of two shows at the Riviera Theatre, 4746 N. Racine Ave., at 8:30pm. Zoogma, an instrumental band that incorporates a similar EDM fusion into its sound, and Archnemesis, an electronic duo that combines music samples with original beats, will open for Lotus. Tickets are $24 each night, or $45 for a 2-day pass to both shows. 18+.
