Soup and Bread @ Hideout

The Hideout (1354 West Wabansia) holds its Soup and Bread weekly fundraiser tonight from 5:30-8pm (or until the soup runs out). Local chefs and foodies prepare a selection of soups for your casual slurping from the bar's crock pots, with (encouraged) donations going to a local food-related charity. This year each week has a theme, and tonight's is "The Ground." Event is age 21+, but children can be admitted if accompanied by an adult.

Chicago Underground Film Festival Opening Night

The Chicago Underground Film Festival kicks off tonight at the Logan Theatre, 2646 N. Milwaukee Ave., with the Chicago premiere of Untitled by Sandra Gibson, Luis Recoder and Olivia Block, as well as Wreading by Jesse Mulmed. Tickets are $7 online or at the door. Doors open at 6pm; screening begins at 8pm.

Comedians You Should Know

Martin Morrow hosts Comedians You Should Know tonight at 9pm at Timothy O'Toole's, 622 N. Fairbanks Ct., with John Conroy, Ricky Gonzalez, Joe Kilgallon, Candy Lawrence, and Aaron Weaver. Admission is $5 in advance, $10 at the door, no drink minimum. Doors are at 8pm. 21+

Chicago Underground Film Festival Opening Night Afterparty

The official afterparty for the Chicago Underground Film Festival is tonight at 10pm at The Owl, 2521 N. Milwaukee Ave. Stacks O Wax DJ Dan Maloney spins, and Finch's Threadless IPA is $4. Free, 21+

WEDNESDAY REWIND Presents: The Killing of Satan

WEDNESDAY REWIND returns with The Killing of Satan, a far-out Filipino journey into the Satanic heart of darkness. Just wait for the scene where a guy gets crushed into Play-doh by a giant paper-mache boulder! The film screens tonight at 10:30pm at the Logan Theatre, 2646 N. Milwaukee Ave. Tickets are $3.
